David W. Thompson, Sr., P.E.

David founded Thompson Environmental Consulting, Inc. in 1993. Prior to founding TEC, he directed the Environmental Department at a local engineering consulting firm that focused on power plant and energy-related projects. He also has experience working at industrial facilities, including Army ammunition production, tire manufacturing, and food processing. David graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and holds Professional Engineering licenses in 17 states. He provides air quality, water quality, and land quality services.

Lisa M. Schmidt, P.E.

Lisa joined Thompson Environmental Consulting, Inc., in 1998.  Prior to this, she was employed at a major food processor as a production engineer. Her responsibilities included production management, EHS issues and new process development/start-up. Lisa graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Chemical Engineering and holds Professional Engineering licenses in Iowa and Nebraska. Lisa’s areas of expertise include air quality issues as well as water quality and land quality services.

Bridget K. Bilyeu

Bridget joined Thompson Environmental Consulting, Inc., in 1995 when relocating to Iowa. Prior to joining TEC, Bridget had completed extensive studies concentrating in environmental compliance, risk management, and environmental law. Bridget’s areas of expertise are air permitting and ongoing air compliance management systems as well as assisting with SPCC and Stormwater Plans.

Andrew J. Walter

Drew joined Thompson Environmental Consulting, Inc. in 2001. After graduating from the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in Environmental Science, he completed an internship at the Iowa Department of Natural Resources – Field Office #5, where he assisted with site inspections and compliance reviews. Drew provides air quality, water quality and land quality services.  Drew also leads the Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) effort at TEC.

Dan J. Deatsch

Dan joined Thompson Environmental in 2006. His experience prior to working with Thompson was with an air emissions testing group. Dan worked with continuous emission monitoring equipment and provided field sampling and laboratory services in his previous experience. He graduated from Creighton University with a degree in Environmental Science. Now at TEC, he provides air quality, risk management plan, and hazardous waste consulting services as well as management of stack testing requirements for production facilities.

Robert G. Hubbard, P.E.

Robert joined Thompson Environmental Consulting, Inc. in 2011. Prior to this, he worked as a Project Environmental Engineer at a national engineering firm that focused on soil and groundwater remediation. Robert graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering and holds a Professional Engineering license in Iowa. He provides water quality, air quality, and land quality services. His areas of expertise include storm water permitting, NPDES Permitting, SPCC and FRP Plans, and Phase I Site Assessments.

Andrew Ewald

Andrew joined Thompson Environmental Consulting, Inc., as a Project Engineer in November 2013.  Prior to this, he worked as a Configuration Manager and Project Engineer for the Edgewood Chemical and Biological Center (ECBC) under the United States Army. His main role with ECBC was as a configuration manager for a line of power decontamination systems and gas masks, ensuring quality design and handling all maintenance issues. Andy graduated from the University of Iowa in 2008 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. With Thompson Environmental, Andy provides air quality, leak detection, and repair services.
